After missing the previous eight games while recovering from a broken fibula, Saints RB Reggie Bush returned against the Cowboys in Week 12, and his involvement on offense was limited. He had just one carry for one yard, one catch for 12 yards, he dropped a pass that probably would have resulted in a touchdown, and he fumbled a punt that set up a third-quarter Dallas touchdown. The effects of his long layoff were obvious, and his timing appeared to be off. We hear the Saints plan to bring him along slowly but surely while he adjusts to being back on the field. Undrafted rookie Chris Ivory and veteran Julius Jones will continue to handle the majority of the workload in the backfield while Bush tries to get comfortable and Pierre Thomas deals with the ankle injury that has kept him out since Week Three. Thomas was limited in practice on Nov. 22, but he was held out of practices later in the week.
