Report: Henne likely to start Sunday

Chad Henne could return to the starting role on Sunday for the first time since Week Nine.

A source told PFW correspondent and South Florida Sun-Sentinel writer Omar Kelly that Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano is leaning toward starting Henne, not Tyler Thigpen, in Sunday's Week 12 game against the Raiders.

Henne lost the starting job before Week 10 to veteran Chad Pennington. After just one series, Pennington suffered a season-ending shoulder injury and Henne returned, only to injure his left knee in the third quarter. Thigpen replaced Henne in the Week 10 win over the Titans and started in a 16-0 Week 11 loss to the Bears.

Henne, who has started 21 games, practiced on a limited basis this week and is listed as questionable. He shared first-team reps with Thigpen in practice.

The way we see it

This could be Henne's second chance to turn the Dolphins' offense around. Sparano replaced Henne to get a spark, only to see Pennington get hurt. The offensive line couldn't protect Thigpen in Week 11 and that could be a concern for Henne who is not very mobile, especially playing on an injured knee. To make matters worse for Miami, Henne will likely be without WR Brandon Marshall who missed practice all week because of a hamstring injury. The Raiders have the league's fourth-best passing defense.

Fantasy Spin

Considering the Raiders' passing defense, the absence of Marshall and the Dolphins' offensive line issues, Henne is not worth a start in fantasy.
