Jaguars OLT Eugene Monroe failed his baseline concussion test on Friday morning and has not been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Giants.

The Jags weren't aware of Monroe's concussion-like symptoms until he complained of a headache after practice on Monday. Monroe was then diagnosed with a mild concussion and has been held out of practice since.

Jacksonville has not yet ruled him out, but Monroe would have to pass the baseline concussion test before he could play.

If he can't go, likely replacements for Monroe include undrafted rookie Kevin Haslam or recently signed Guy Whimper.

The way we see it

The Jaguars' offensive line will need all the help it can get on Sunday against the Giants' second-ranked defense. ORT Eben Britton is already done for the season with a torn labrum and his replacement, Jordan Black, has struggled. If Monroe can't go, the line will be dangerously thin and at a severe disadvantage against the Giants' fearsome collection of pass rushers.
