WR Roy Williams is not solely to blame for Thursday's loss to the Saints with his late fumble, nor has he played as poorly as some have suggested. But the Cowboys know that he is not a No. 1 receiver and probably not a No. 3 given his salary and the emergence of Miles Austin and Dez Bryant into building-block targets. Williams is due to make more than $5 million next season and clearly doesn't figure into the team's plans at that number. And though it's unfair to extract one fumble against the Saints as a symbol of his time in Dallas, the play did pretty well sum up his time there: a flash of great ability finished off with a play that hurt his team dearly. With Austin, Bryant and TE Jason Witten, the top three targets are in great shape, but the team would need to find another WR option if Williams left. The only other wide receiver who has caught more than five passes this season has been Sam Hurd, who is a good but not great offensive player.
