The Dolphins have signed DT Chris Baker off their practice squad and waived DE Clifton Geathers.

Baker spent time with the Broncos last season but did not record a tackle. He has been on the Miami practice squad since Oct. 7.

Geathers, a rookie from South Carolina, appeared in the team's Week Seven loss to the Steelers but recorded no statistics.

The way we see it

Baker played under defensive coordinator Mike Nolan a year ago in Denver and should be comfortable in the system. The Dolphins are banged up on defense, so the new signee could see some immediate playing time.
