The Vikings have added OT Patrick Brown to the active roster and placed OG Anthony Herrera on injured reserve.
Herrera tore an ACL in his left knee in the Vikings 31-3 loss to the Packers on Sunday. The seventh-year veteran started every game this season at right guard for Minnesota.
Brown is a first-year offensive tackle who was promoted from the practice squad.
The way we see it
Herrera was an established run blocker and his absence will hurt the Vikings' depth up front. Ryan Cook will likely become the starter, but Minnesota also could look at fifth-round rookie Chris DeGeare, who has yet to be active for a game this season.
