Giants not benching Bradshaw for good

The Giants' decision to bench RB Ahmad Bradshaw is a temporary measure, and it might end up helping him in the long term. The reason head coach Tom Coughlin gave for the move was Bradshaw's fumbling, not for Brandon Jacobs' improvement over the past few games. And Coughlin is putting his foot down on turnovers, which have been the Giants' Achilles' heel this season. Bradshaw has lost five fumbles already, almost reaching a Tiki Barber level of concern. Barber learned to curb his fumbling with improved technique under Coughlin's watch, and Bradshaw can too. We hear that Coughlin really likes the young back and thinks Bradshaw will return to the starting lineup once he shows better responsibility for the ball. Then, and only then, will he get another chance, but the Giants do have the luxury of having two starting-caliber backs to make this move.
