The Panthers expect to have rookie QB Jimmy Clausen back in the starting role for Sunday's game vs. the Browns.

Clausen missed Week 11 after sustaining a concussion on the final play of Week 10. Clausen returned to practice on Wednesday and head coach John Fox said it's "safe to assume" Clausen will start, assuming he doesn't suffer a setback.

Brain St. Pierre, who started against the Ravens last Sunday, will be the backup. Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart returned to practice as well after missing two games with a concussion.

The way we see it

The Panthers are well out of the playoff race and Fox could be out of a job, but it's better for the club's future for Clausen to get his snaps and increase his game experience, assuming he is the team's quarterback for years to come.

RB Mike Goodson has been playing well in Stewart's absence, but it looks like the Panthers' league-worst offense should get enough weapons back on Sunday to put together a decent game against the Browns.

Fantasy Spin

Keep an eye on Stewart's status the rest of the week, but still plan on starting Goodson if you have him on your team. He has been a solid fantasy player in carrying the load for Carolina the past two weeks.
