With the Cardinals’ offense drying up big-time in the desert, there has been increased speculation on the future of star WR Larry Fitzgerald. Rumors that the Cardinals might attempt to trade Fitzgerald before his contract runs out after the 2011 season are picking up steam, but inside sources have a hard time envisioning that scenario. “The Cardinals would have to get Fitzgerald to waive the no-trade clause in his contract, and i just don’t see that happening,” one team insider told PFW. “They already let Anquan Boldin go, and if they were to do the same with Fitzgerald, I think they’d take a real pounding at the box office.” The one certainty, we hear, is that, whatever Fitzgerald might be thinking, he will make sure to keep it to himself. “He wants to stay as far away from the subject as possible,” the insider said. “He’s going out of his way to be the good teammate. His image remains very important to him.”
