The Buccaneers have signed DT Frank Okam to their active roster and released veteran DT Ryan Sims.
Okam was drafted by the Texans in the fifth round (151st overall) in 2008, where he played in 13 games before being released in October. He then signed with the Seahawks, but was cut before playing in any games.
Sims has been with Tampa Bay since 2007, after being acquired via trade from the Chiefs. He has played in six games with one start for the Bucs this season and recorded six tackles.
The way we see it
The Bucs continue to get younger on the defensive front with the addition of Okam. Recently signed rookie DT Al Woods recorded a tackle and half a sack last week in the 21-0 win over the 49ers.
