Last night's battle for NFC East supremacy between the Giants and Eagles earned the fourth-best overnight rating in "Sunday Night Football" history.

The game earned a 15.9 overnight, a rating up 31 percent from last year's Week 11 game. It was the best overnight for a November prime-time game since 1998. NBC's Sunday-night game was the top-rated show on Sunday night for the 11th consecutive week.

Four of this season's NBC games rank among the top five NBC prime-time games ever.

The way we see it

Each week, TV ratings show how important the NFL is to American TV watchers, especially this season. Hopefully owners and players recognize this during CBA negotiations this offseason.
