Browns QB Colt McCoy was wearing a walking boot on his left leg after Cleveland's 24-20 loss at Jacksonville Sunday, multiple media outlets reported. McCoy had X-rays on his left ankle after the game, according to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.

McCoy completed 17-of-28 passes for 241 yards with one TD and one interception against the Jaguars, but he was sacked six times, and he apparently suffered the injury after being sacked in the third quarter, according to the Plain Dealer, which reported that McCoy said X-rays were inconclusive on the injury.

The way we see it

If McCoy were to miss any playing time, the Browns would turn to either Seneca Wallace or Jake Delhomme. Wallace was the top backup in Week 11, with Delhomme the No. 3 quarterback.

Quarterbacks dealing with ankle injuries is nothing new for the Browns. Delhomme began the season as the starter before suffering a high ankle sprain, with Wallace taking over for him for the next four games before suffering an ankle injury of his own. Delhomme re-injured his ankle in relief of Wallace in Week Five, giving McCoy a chance to play.
