The Vikings have activated WR Sidney Rice to their 53-man roster, making him eligible to play tomorrow vs. the Packers.
Rice has missed the first 10 weeks of the season following offseason hip surgery, but the team has deemed him healthy enough to be on the 53-man roster. There is no word on if Rice will suit up for the Vikings on Sunday vs. the Packers.
Rice began practicing with the team Nov. 3, and the team had until next Wednesday to activate him or else place him on season-ending injured reserve.
The way we see it
Minnesota has been searching all season for a receiver to fill in for Rice, even experimenting with Randy Moss for a few weeks. It is unknown what type of shape the receiver will be in when he does suit up to play, but any contribution is likely to be helpful for the 3-6 Vikings.
