Here's a matchup to watch in the Week 11 game between the Patriots and Colts:
Colts WRs Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon vs. Patriots CBs Devin McCourty and Kyle Arrington
The Patriots' passing defense, if you haven't heard, is one of the worst in the league, allowing 277.8 yards through the air a game. Not all of that is on the young corners as the Patriots have struggled to consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks, but McCourty and Arrington have had their lapses.
They get a test from one of the best in the league on Sunday with Wayne coming to Foxborough. Even though Peyton Manning has lost some weapons and Wayne should be keyed in on, he has 63 catches for 758 yards and three TDs this season. Garcon has been slowed by injury but has been the No. 2 WR in Austin Collie's absence (Collie is questionable for Sunday) and has 28 catches for 344 yards.
If Collie plays, the Patriots' secondary will have even more on their hands. Even though he has missed two games, Collie has 502 yards receiving and six TDs.
Arrington has a couple of clutch passes defensed this season against a few top receivers, but he is not fast or physical enough to be a good cover man if a wideout goes deep. McCourty has been more consistent, missing just one snap on defense this season. He is physical but has been beaten on jump balls this season.
Playing from behind, Steelers WR Mike Wallace turned in a big game in Week 10, and Manning and his wideouts are likely excited to face such a weak secondary on Sunday.
