Due to injuries in the backfield, the Cardinals have signed RB Alfonso Smith from their practice squad. WR Max Komar was released to create an available roster spot.
Arizona RBs Beanie Wells (knee), LaRod Stephens-Howling (hamstring) and Jason Wright (head) are all questionable for the team's Week 11 game vs. the Chiefs, so bringing in a healthy back was a necessity. Smith, an undrafted rookie from Kentucky, was released by the team in its final cutdown before the regular season and then was added to the practice squad Tuesday.
In six games with the Cardinals, Komar caught six passes for 60 yards, and he returned five punts for a 6.2-yard average. Komar also had three fumbles, one of which was recovered by the opponent.
The way we see it
If Wright or Wells isn't able to play tomorrow for the Cardinals vs. Kansas City, Smith may be active and see some carries.
