Packers fantasy focus

The fantasy stars could be aligned just right for the well-rested Packers this Sunday against a Vikings defense that didn’t have much success handling the Bears’ balanced attack in a 27-13 loss in Week 10.

Our top choice to put up big fantasy numbers is RB Brandon Jackson, who had TDs both rushing and receiving in the Sunday-night rout over the Cowboys two weeks ago and rather quietly has become a fantasy force to be reckoned with by virtue of his three TDs in his last three games, including Green Bay’s first score in its Week Seven victory over Minnesota.

We also like QB Aaron Rodgers a lot in this game as he tries to take it to archnemesis Brett Favre for the second time this season after Favre got the best of him in the Vikings’ series sweep last year. Rodgers had his best effort of the season against Dallas, completing 27-of-34 passes for 289 yards and three TDs with zero interceptions.

Even though it’s risky predicting back-to-back strong efforts for the inconsistent James Jones, we’ll take that gamble. Jones was one of Week Nine’s highlight fantasy performers in his last game, catching eight passes for 123 yards and a TD. It’s also worth noting his 4-107-0 effort in Week Seven against Minnesota.

Last but not least, how about a sleeper pick? Newly re-signed TE Spencer Havner could be just what the doctor ordered, reuniting with Rodgers, with whom he developed a great chemistry in '09, with four TDs among his seven catches for the season.
