Here's a matchup to watch in Sunday's Browns-Jaguars game:

Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis vs. the Browns' pass defense

Lewis, 26, is having the finest season of his career. He's already set a career-high for TDs (seven) and is on pace for about 53 catches and 674 yards, which would also represent career-bests.

The 6-6, 275-pound Lewis can create mismatches with his excellent size and length and relatively good speed. Given a free release off the line, he can get on top of linebackers quickly; that's exactly what happened when he sprinted down the right seam and beat Cowboys ILB Bradie James for 42-yard touchdown at Dallas in Week Eight. He also scored a nine-yard TD on a well-designed throwback pass across the field, with Dallas ILB Keith Brooking nearest in coverage.

Too tall for any of the Browns' defensive backs and with the speed to give their linebackers all they can handle in coverage, Lewis, who caught five passes for 53 yards last week vs. Houston, potentially presents a tough matchup for Cleveland. His work in the running game bears close attention, too; before he gained accolades for his improvement as a pass catcher, he earned notice for being a top-flight blocker.
