The Texans got good news Thursday when QB Matt Schaub returned to practice after being hospitalized on Tuesday night with a bursa sac injury in his right knee.
Schaub left the hospital Wednesday night and took about half of the reps at Thursday's practice.
"Everything looks OK to me with (Schaub)," said head coach Gary Kubiak, who expects Schaub to start Sunday.
The way we see it
The news of its QB going to the hospital was certainly concerning for a Houston team in must-win mode. At 4-5 and following a heartbreaking loss to division-rival Jacksonville on a Hail Mary pass in Week 10, the Texans have the deck stacked against them. Schaub has thrown 12 TD passes and seven interceptions this season. The offense has not been as powerful as in 2009, but the Texans still need Schaub in the lineup to win. Dan Orlovsky is the backup QB.
Schaub's fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief, as well as owners of WR Andre Johnson and RB Arian Foster. The Texans will have a tough task going against the Jets' defense on Sunday but have a much better chance to score with Schaub playing.
