The Patriots' Week One starter at running back, 34-year-old Fred Taylor, has been absent since injuring his toe in Week Three, opening the door for the "Law Firm," BenJarvus Green-Ellis, to emerge as the team's primary back. Taylor returned to practice leading into Week 10 for the first time since the injury but was inactive against the Steelers. When Taylor returns to action, the Patriots will return to their normal logjam at the position. We hear a healthy Taylor would take carries away from Green-Ellis, as he provides something they don't have now: options in the Pats' backfield if Green-Ellis struggles. Green-Ellis has been a revelation, but he also has three starts with 24 or fewer yards rushing and there is not an every-down back behind him on the depth chart. Danny Woodhead is a third-down back, and Sammy Morris has just 12 carries this season. The Patriots aren't a No. 1-back kind of team, and the backfield will be improved with a healthy Taylor to spell Green-Ellis.
