The Broncos have released OLB Jarvis Moss, a former first-round draft pick.

After a productive collegiate career at Florida, Moss was never much of a factor in Denver. The 17th overall pick in the 2007 draft made just one start in four seasons for the Broncos, totaling 29 career tackles, 3½ sacks and a forced fumble.

Denver added LB David Veikune, a second-year player who was with the Browns last season, to take Moss' roster spot.

The way we see it

Broncos OLB Robert Ayers appears to be close to returning from a foot injury, making Moss expendable. Moss was not given the chance to start when Ayers went down, with the Broncos instead switching to a 4-3 defense and giving LBs Joe Mays and Wesley Woodyard a chance in 3-4 schemes.
