Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, director of player personnel Nick Caserio and defensive line coach Pepper Johnson participated in a conference call on Tuesday. The following quotes are from transcripts provided by the Patriots.

Belichick on RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis: "Benny's had three years and he's been real consistent for us. He's gotten better at a lot of things: working the passing game and special teams, better understanding of some of our blocking schemes and the running game, more patience ... He's tough. He makes positive yards and has good body lean. He's been a real dependable player for us."

Belichick on which stats are important: "Wins is No. 1. Points is No. 2, because that correlates to winning. And then you get to the things that correlate to scoring, which (are) red-area, big plays, and third down becomes a part of that because of being able to sustain drives and that type of things. But if you make big plays, then third down becomes less important."

Caserio on DL Mike Wright and his versatility: "He's really kind of a unique player. He's got good playing strengths. He's got good quickness. He's athletic. He presents some problems on the interior because of his quickness, so he's kind of a unique player ... I think the other thing is Mike works really hard at his craft since he's been here, really since Day One. He's tough, he's athletic, he probably runs as well as anybody for somebody his size in the league."

Johnson on what moving DL Vince Wilfork to the end does for the D-line: "We can do a lot of different things. It all depends on the situation and the teams that we plan (for). Just moving around so that teams can't just focus on, 'Hey, he's going to be at nose, so we can have a lot of doubles and game-plan him that way,' if they are game-planning him. It can also just show his value to us."
