Dolphins TE Anthony Fasano has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the team worth $7.75 million, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The deal comes just days after the five-year vet had his best game of the season, catching five passes for 107 yards and a TD. Along with WRs Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess, who both signed contract extensions earlier this season, Fasano becomes a core member of the Miami receiving corps for years to come.

The way we see it

Locking up talented, young players is the sign of a smart organization, and it appears that is what Miami is doing with Fasano. He is not one of the league's premier tight ends, but he is a quality player who can both catch and block, fitting head coach Tony Sparano's system very well. Sparano was a coach for the Cowboys when Fasano was drafted by Dallas, so the coach and player know each other well and obviously are comfortable working with each other.
