The 49ers released WR Jason Hill, dropping the former third-round pick who has failed to contribute during his recent time in San Francisco.
Hill had his best year in 2008, when he caught 30 passes and two touchdowns in his second professional season. But he never developed after that, with nine receptions in 2009 and none this year.
The way we see it
The 49ers are essentially cutting dead weight here, as Hill was not making any contribution to the team. It will be interesting to see how they fill his spot on the 53-man roster.
