The 49ers have joined the ever-growing club of teams looking for a placekicker.

Starting PK Joe Nedney underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed a right knee strain and a bone bruise. The 49ers announced that he will most likely sit out Sunday's game against the Buccaneers and be reevaluated next week.

According to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, the 49ers are looking at Shane Andrus, Swayze Waters and Garrett Lindholm.

The way we see it

The Steelers cut Jeff Reed on Sunday and both the Patriots and Bengals lost their starting kickers to injuries in the last two weeks. Nedney will likely be back in Week 12. Andrus kicked four extra points in the 49ers' season finale last season against the Rams and took part in this summer's training camp with the team.
