The Bengals have placed PK Mike Nugent and CB Morgan Trent on injured reserve, ending their 2010 seasons after nine games.

Nugent, who made 15-of-19 field-goal attempts on the season and had made all 17 of his extra points, suffered a knee injury attempting to recover an onside kick in the Bengals' Week 10 loss to the Colts.

Trent hurt his knee in a Nov. 11 practice and was inactive for the game vs. the Colts. He had been the team's third cornerback before the injury and had 26 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery on the season.

Cincinnati also received a one-week exemption from the NFL for DE Antwan Odom to participate in team activities without counting against the 53-man active roster. Odom has just completed a four-game NFL suspension for violation of league policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The way we see it

The Bengals would have likely brought in Shayne Graham, their kicker from 2003-09, but he was signed a week ago by the Patriots. Expect the team to make some corresponding moves later this week to sign a kicker.
