Here are notes on the first half of Jets-Browns from a Cleveland perspective.
Halftime score: Jets 17, Browns 13
Positives: The Browns have been able to run and pass with success vs. the Jets' well-regarded defense. Cleveland has racked up 84 yards on the ground, with RB Peyton Hillis rushing for 60 yards on 10 carries. Hillis scored his ninth TD of the season on a 12-yard run off the left side hlghlighted by good blocks from FB Lawrence Vickers and a pulling ORG Billy Yates. QB Colt McCoy had a solid first half, completing 8-of-12 passes for 112 yards.
Negatives: The Browns have surrendered 196 yards to the Jets and allowed TD drives of 76 and 80 yards. Meanwhile, the Browns had drives of 69 and 66 yards end in field goals, not touchdowns. Browns RS-WR Joshua Cribbs suffered a foot injury, and his return is questionable.
Outlook: The Browns need to get more stops to secure the victory. Their success on offense is a wonderful sign, however.
