CHICAGO — Vikings head coach Brad Childress said WR Bernard Berrian, who was active for Sunday's game but did not play, told the coaches he could not go after the pregame stretching.

Berrian was listed on the injury report with a hamstring this week.

"He was set to go," Childress said. "We had him up, and (the hamstring) was bugging him a little bit."

QB Brett Favre threw for a career-best 446 yards last week but was held to 170 yards this week on 31 pass attempts in the 27-13 loss to the Bears. Childress said Berrian's absence was not the difference.

"You'd like to have all those playmakers," Childress said. "It was going to be (Greg) Camarillo and Bernard and Greg Lewis ... we had five (active receivers) for a reason. We feel like we would like to have five in some of those packages.

"But it's football. We had enough to play."

Also not available was WR Sidney Rice, who remains on the PUP list with a hip injury. And late in the game, Percy Harvin tweaked his ankle injury that he suffered two weeks ago against the Patriots.
