The Jaguars have ended the season of DE Aaron Kampman, placing the veteran on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in practice on Thursday.

To fill the roster spot, the team signed DT Nate Collins off the Giants' practice squad. Collins was undrafted in the 2010 draft after a solid career at the University of Virginia. In the Pro Football Weekly 2010 Draft Preview, analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote of Collins: "Lacks ideal bulk and length for the pro game and must prove that he has matured and is willing to do what it takes to play at the next level."

The way we see it

Kampman had started the Jaguars' first eight games, recording 25 tackles and four sacks. His absence will be felt on a young Jacksonville defensive line.
