Texans TE Owen Daniels has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
The tight end suffered a hamstring injury in the Texans' Week Eight contest against the Colts, and has not practiced since that Monday night battle.
The injury is expected to keep Daniels, who saw his 2009 campaign end early after a knee injury, out for a few more weeks.
The way we see it
Daniels wasn't off to a great start to the season as he struggled to regain full health following the torn ACL that shelved him last season. He hasn't caught a touchdown pass in seven games. TE Joel Dreessen played well in the starting spot last week, and he should be able to fill the void left by Daniels. Second-year TE James Casey also will contribute.
Dreessen could be in for a big day against a struggling Jaguars defense that just took another hit with the season-ending loss of DE Aaron Kampman, its top pass rusher. Jacksonville has surrendered 17 touchdown passes through the air, which could mean a big day in the red zone for the 6-foot-4 Dreessen.
