The Panthers will be without RBs DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Tyrell Sutton on Sunday.
Fourth-stringer Mike Goodson will get the call against the Buccaneers. He rushed for 29 yards on nine attempts last week following injuries to Stewart (concussion) and Sutton (ankle).
Williams (foot) is no longer walking with a boot and is expected to return next week.
The way we see it
Goodson, a second-year back who has a career rushing average of 2.6 yards per carry, had just 22 carries a year ago, and with 16 carries already this season, barring injury he'll surpass that total on Sunday. The Panthers will need to depend on the running game with rookie QB Jimmy Clausen under center.
It's unknown how effective Goodson will be, but the one thing Goodson will get is carries. Facing off against a Bucs defense that has allowed five yards per carry and ranks 30th against the run, Goodson may be able to compile some fantasy points for owners searching for a one-week fill-in.
