Greene set to emerge for Jets

Veteran RB LaDainian Tomlinson was the Jets' best offensive player in the first half of the season, but he may not even be the team's top running back before long. Backup Shonn Greene has gained more yards per carry than Tomlinson in each of the team's past four games, and just as he did a year ago when he backed up Thomas Jones, seems to be coming on strong as the season wears on. The 226-pound Greene is a more physical runner than Tomlinson and can be a nightmare to tackle when he's running full speed, a problem for opposing defenses that have been beaten up during the course of the season. As the weather changes and the wind starts to pick up at the New Meadowlands Stadium, the Jets will look to increase their run-pass ratio, which will mean more of a reliance on Greene to gain tough yards, moving Tomlinson to a change-of-pace role.
