Here's a look at how the Vikings' rookies fared in the Week Nine win over the Cardinals in overtime:

CB Chris Cook (second round): Cook whiffed on a tackle on Cardinals rookie WR Andre Roberts that led to a 30-yard TD, but he saw more playing time in this game and fared reasonably well. Steve Breaston caught a pass on Cook, but he otherwise acquitted himself well. The Vikings need him to continue ascending.

RB Toby Gerhart (second round): After a few improved efforts, Gerhart took a step back in this game. He failed in pass protection a few times and couldn't convert a 3rd-and-1 run. Not his best effort to date.

DE Everson Griffen (fourth round): Griffen has been coming on, receiving a handful of defensive snaps to go along with his special-teams workand showing some good physical skills. He made one tackle and could spell Ray Edwards or Jared Allen for a series or two per game going forward.

OG Chris DeGeare (fifth round): Inactive the past four weeks. He'll be in or out of the lineup based on injuries, depth, etc. The Vikings viewed him as something of a project and are not displeased with his progress so far.

QB Joe Webb (sixth round): Has been the emergency QB for all seven games. A major work in progress with interesting potential.
