PK Dave Rayner has been signed by the Lions, who are looking for a fill-in kicker with Jason Hanson expected to miss the next three weeks with a sprained MCL.
Rayner last kicked in the NFL in 2008, when he was a member of the Bengals. In four professional seasons with the Colts, Packers, Chargers, Chiefs and Bengals, Rayner connected on 42-of-59 field goals and 48-of-49 PATs.
The way we see it
Rayner is a solid part-time fill in for the Lions, much better than rookie DT Ndamukong Suh, who attempted an extra point in Hanson's place during the Week Nine loss to the Jets.
