The Colts released their Tuesday injury report, and S Bob Sanders (biceps) and WR Austin Collie (concussion) have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
DT Antonio Johnson (knee) will "progress to on-field work this week," according to the report.
Sanders has been out since the season opener but still remains on the roster, meaning the team is hopeful the hard-hitting yet injury-plagued safety will return to action this season.
Collie suffered a concussion in Sunday's game against the Eagles after a violent collision left him motionless on the turf. His prognosis is improving, though, considering the hit.
The Colts also waived DB Deshea Townsend and RB Andre Brown, who was claimed on waivers by Carolina.
The way we see it
Can the injury situation for the Colts get any worse? TE Dallas Clark and WR Anthony Gonzalez are out for the year, and now Collie is set to miss time. WRs Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon and Blair White will be Peyton Manning's top targets on Sunday.
Sanders could really bolster an injury-depleted secondary if he is able to return, but it's starting to get pretty late in the season for the Colts to continue to hold his roster spot.
RB Joseph Addai has not been ruled out, so he could return to the field on Sunday.
