Here are the Vikings' players of the week in their 27-24 comeback win over the Cardinals in Week Nine:

Offense: RB Adrian Peterson had 144 yards from scrimmage (including 30 on the game-winning FG drive), plus two touchdowns. Any other week, that probably would be enough to win the award. Same goes for WR Percy Harvin, who had a career-high 126 yards receiving, playing on a bum ankle. But this week, it goes to QB Brett Favre, who had a couple of poor interceptions but also rallied his team to victory with a career-high 446 passing yards. Favre played his best game of the season with a shorthanded WR crew and an injury to ORT Phil Loadholt. It's hard to believe, but he only had one other 400-yard game in his career ... back in 1993.

Defense: It's a tie between DE Jared Allen and SLB Chad Greenway. For Allen, the recognition is notable — he had 2½ sacks on Sunday after notching only one through the first seven games. Allen took down Cardinals QB Derek Anderson with 37 seconds remaining in regulation, preventing that drive from happening. And then Allen took down Anderson again in overtime. The Vikings scored on the next possession to win it. Greenway also had a sack on the Cardinals' final possession, right before Allen's takedown. It has been a banner season for Greenway, who added nine tackles (three of them for losses). He has had at least eight tackles in every game this season.

Special teams: P Chris Kluwe and LB Heath Farwell both had excellent days, so we'll split the award here, too. Kluwe banged all four of his punts inside the 20-yard line of the Cardinals, including one that Farwell saved before it bounded into the end zone. Kluwe averaged a net of 46 yards on his punts. Farwell, one of the best coverage players in the NFL, was in on three special-teams tackles.
