Here's a look at how the Vikings' fantasy players stack up in their Week Nine matchup against the Cardinals:
No one in their right mind would opt to bench RB Adrian Peterson in any normal week, so why would you even consider it this week when he's the Vikings' one reliable option? Peterson might be due for another one of his patented games, with 100-plus yards and at least one TD. He might even break a long run today, which he hasn't done in a few games.
QB Brett Favre will have a shortage of targets in the passing game with Randy Moss gone and Percy Harvin (ankle) beat up. His other wideouts include Greg Camarillo, Greg Lewis and Hank Baskett. One of them likely will have to produce this week for the Vikings, but which one? Any of these guys are desperation dart throws in terms of fantasy projection.
Favre's favorite target Sunday might be TE Visanthe Shiancoe. The team has tried to get him back to his production of last season, and this might be the week he re-approaches the 70-to-80-yard range. The seam pass just hasn't been there, but with SS Adrian Wilson up to stop Peterson, Shiancoe might have some room Sunday.
