Her are notes on the second quarter of Patriots-Browns from a Cleveland perspective.
Halftime score: Browns 17, Patriots 7.
Positives: The Browns may be the NFL's most creative team, and they struck again with a wonderful trick play, an 11-yard Chansi Stuckey TD run off a handoff from Joshua Cribbs, who had lined up under center. Cribbs concealed the handoff very well, and Stuckey had plenty of room off the left side as New England tried to recover defensively to no avail. ... Browns S Abram Elam came up with a huge play near the end of the first half, forcing Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski to fumble on the Cleveland 3 and recovering the ball.
Negatives: Patriots QB Tom Brady began to find his rhythm as the second quarter went on, and the key play from Elam likely saved Cleveland from surrendering at least three points.
Outlook: The Browns played New England to a draw in the second quarter and have a very good chance at pulling the outright upset if they continue to play like they have in the first 30 minutes.
