While the Raiders try to continue winning without their full complement of receivers, the pressure is still on WR Darrius Heyward-Bey to step up and be the No. 1 target he was supposed to develop into after he was drafted seventh overall. He's showing signs of getting closer to becoming that player. The second-year receiver is coming off the most productive game of his career (5-105-1), and observers say Heyward-Bey's technique has improved since the season started. He's still not getting open downfield as much as the team would like him to, but he's improving in that area. As for the injured receivers, Louis Murphy (bruised lung) could return after Oakland's Week 10 bye, and it's still not known when Chaz Schilens (knee), who hasn't played in a game this season, will be ready. TE Zach Miller (foot) is also not expected to play Sunday, but he could return after the bye.
