The Chargers activated SS Steve Gregory on Saturday and waived WR Richard Goodman.

Gregory was serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs and returned to the team on Monday. He is eligible to play in Sunday's game vs. the Texans.

Gregory, a fifth-year veteran, recorded 30 tackles in the first four games of the season before his suspension. He also had an interception.

Goodman had one catch for 25 yards in three games this season.

The way we see it

Gregory brings the secondary a huge boost with his return. The Chargers already have the top-ranked total defense and passing defense in the league, and they will be better with Gregory back there. Goodman was on the roster because of all the injuries to the wide receivers.
