So far this season, WLB Ernie Sims has become best known for two big hits he has dished out, one that earned him a $50,000 hit from the commissioner's office prior to Week Nine. But it has been a surprisingly quiet first half of the season otherwise for Sims, who was deemed a perfect fit in this fast-flowing defense and was expected to be a big-play specialist with a lot of room to roam. But so far, Sims has fallen short in the big-play department. He has one sack, which is on par with his season averages in years past, but only one forced fumble and no interceptions. The Eagles can live with Sims being an enforcer and delivering big hits, and they still think he's bound to produce more, but right now he has been only adequate in his new role.
