The Dolphins brought back S Nate Ness on Thursday, claiming him off waivers from the Seahawks.
Ness originally signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in May, 2009, and he finished the 2009 season on the Dolphins' practice squad. The Dolphins cut Ness on Sept. 4, 2010, hoping he would clear waivers and rejoin the practice squad, but the Seahawks claimed him.
Ness played in one game this season with Seattle, last Sunday's loss to the Raiders. He recorded five tackles.
To make room for Ness, the Dolphins cut CB Evan Oglesby. They re-signed Oglesby on Oct. 27 and he played last Sunday against the Bengals on special teams.
The way we see it
With CB Nolan Carroll and S Reshad Jones battling injuries, Ness will help add depth in the secondary and be a special-teams contributor. Ness can play corner or safety, and the Dolphins are glad to have him back on the roster.
