Browns QB Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, who have sat out the last two games with ankle injuries, will miss practice Wednesday, head coach Eric Mangini said, according to the team. Rookie Colt McCoy, who has made two consecutive starts, will work with the first-team offense, Mangini said, according to multiple reports.

According to The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Mangini said if "things stay the way they are," McCoy would be the likely starter vs. New England on Sunday.

McCoy has completed 32-of-49 passes for 355 yards with one TD and two interceptions this season.

The way we see it

That Wallace and Delhomme were unable to practice Wednesday increases the likelihood of McCoy making another start, and thus potentially another chance to audition for the full-time job. A decision on the Browns' starter won't occur until either Wallace and/or Delhomme is healthy, Mangini and president Mike Holmgren have said. Wallace is ahead of Delhomme in the healing process, Mangini said earlier this week.

Fantasy spin

Should he start Sunday, McCoy could merit a look in bigger two-QB formats, as New England's pass defense is shaky, However, the Browns have thrown for just six TDs this season and take a conservative approach in the passing game.
