Each Wednesday throughout the season we'll identify one player, coach or area of the team that is most under the microscope. This week, the Bears' running game is under pressure to produce against the Bills.

Offensive coordinator Mike Martz has been hammered over and over again for not running the ball enough, as Chicago has the third-fewest rushing attempts in the league (156).

If Martz has any interest in appeasing his critics by getting RBs Matt Forté and Chester Taylor more involved — and there's a good chance that he does not — this would be the week to do it.

The Bills are ranked last in the league in run defense, allowing an eye-popping 188.7 rushing yards per game. Buffalo is giving up five yards per carry, which ranks 31st in the league.

If the Bears' offensive line doesn't win the battle up front and the Forté-Taylor tandem isn't able to produce, it would be a very discouraging sign for the team. If they can't pile up yards on the ground against the Bills, what team will they be able to run on this season?
