The Bucs will reportedly place second-round pick DT Brian Price on injured reserve Tuesday, according to ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas. Price has been battling a pelvic injury most of the season, forcing him to miss the last two games.

The rookie out of UCLA was the 35th overall pick in April's draft and was expected to be the team's defensive tackle of the future next to fellow rookie Gerald McCoy, the Bucs' first-round pick.

Second-year player Roy Miller has been starting in Price's absence.

The way we see it

The Bucs seem to like Miller, and the run defense played well against the Cardinals without Price. They expected Price to be a good fit, so it is a setback that the developing prospect cannot get more game experience this season. A team high on playing young players, the Bucs would not place Price on I.R. if they didn't think it was serious. Their defensive line is probably the weakest unit on the first-place team.
