The Raiders could lose their top defensive player before one of the biggest games the franchise has played in a long time.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that CB Nmamdi Asomugha underwent an MRI that revealed a high ankle sprain on Monday. Asomougha will get a second opinion.

The two-time Pro Bowler suffered the injury in the Raiders' 33-3 win over the Seahawks.

The Raiders have won back-to-back games leading up to a crucial matchup against the Chiefs on Sunday with serious AFC West title implications.

The way we see it

This is pretty bad timing for the Raiders before Sunday's huge game against the Chiefs. The defense has played very well during this recent surge and Asomugha is one of the top corners in the league. The Chiefs don't boast a great passing game, but Asomugha is a difference maker and could shut down WR Dwayne Bowe.
