Raiders rookie MLB Rolando McClain broke his media silence on Monday, but only to make a plea for Raiders fans to fill Oakland Coliseum.

McClain, the No. 8 overall pick in April's draft, has not done an interview with local media since the season opener against the Titans on Sept. 12. McClain explained Monday that he would not give an interview until the Raiders sold out a game.

The Raiders, who have won back-to-back games and are in second place in the AFC West, have gone 11 consecutive games without a sellout, including their 33-3 victory over the Seahawks on Sunday that drew just 35,721 fans.

The Raiders play the Chiefs on Sunday, a surprising battle for the top of the AFC West.

The way we see it

It's pretty gutsy for a rookie to make a statement to the media like McClain, but it seems he has good intentions. We'll see if McClain's plea combined with the Raiders' recent success is enough to sell out the Coliseum.
