The Patriots' offensive, defensive and special-teams players of the week in their 28-18 win over the Vikings in Week Eight.

Offense: RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis

The "Law Firm" had just four yards on four carries in the first half, but found holes and room to run in the second half against a pretty stout Vikings run defense. Green-Ellis finished the game with a career-high 112 yards rushing on 17 carries (6.6 average) and two touchdowns. On the Patriots' final scoring drive, Green-Ellis carried it seven times for 62 yards (8.9 average) and his second TD, sealing the victory.

Defense: CB Devin McCourty

The rookie had his best game in the NFL - recording his second interception along with three passes defensed. In the third quarter, Brett Favre looked deep to WR Percy Harvin and McCourty was step-for-step with the speedster, almost picking off the pass. On the next Vikings drive, Favre went to Harvin again, the ball was bobbled and ripped away by a heads-up McCourty. The rookie sprinted 37 yards down the sideline, setting up a Green-Ellis TD.

Special teams: P Zoltan Mesko

Ever since his early-season struggles, the best rookie punter has shown a lot of consistency and improved the Patriots' net punting from a year ago. Mesko's five punts had a net average of 42 yards. Only one of those five punts was returned, and it went for just seven yards. He dropped one inside the 20.
