Cardinals RB Beanie Wells will get his first start of the season on Sunday against the Bucs in place of Tim Hightower.
Head coach Ken Whisenhunt announced on Friday that Wells will get the nod.
"Tim is still going to get carries and be involved in all aspects of the offense," Whisenhunt said, according to the team's website. "He's not going to just be a third-down back ... But (Beanie starting) is the way we're going to go."
Hightower lost his third fumble of the season in Week Seven's loss to the Seahawks. Wells missed the first two games of the season because of injury. He has 53 rushes for 183 yards and a TD this season while Hightower has gone 52-198-2.
The way we see it
Wells had already been seeing increased carries, and Hightower's third fumble was the last straw for Whisenhunt.
Wells could see quite the workload on Sunday with rookie QB Max Hall's struggles. The Bucs are 31st in the league in rushing defense, so Wells is a definite start in fantasy.
