After an impressive start to his career, Raiders rookie DE Lamarr Houston has made less of an impact in recent weeks, according to team observers. There's been some speculation that the second-round pick may have hit a wall. While head coach Tom Cable has disagreed with that assessment, he did admit that he'd like to see more of a pass rush from Houston, who has just one sack. Oakland moved Houston from defensive tackle, which he played in college at Texas, to end in the offseason, and he started in six of the team's first seven games. Despite some inconsistent play, the suspicion that the Raiders had found a solid value pick in Houston, who was selected 44th overall in April, has been confirmed. He's flashed the potential to be a powerful, quick-twitch end with the strength and versatility to play inside or outside on the defensive line. He's shown a high motor and a mean streak at times.
