We hear WLB Thomas Davis hasn't given up on his wish to return from the physically-unable-to-perform list in time for Carolina's Nov. 14 matchup against the Buccaneers. Davis has been working hard to return from the ACL tear he suffered in June, and the Panthers have to make a decision on whether to activate him from the PUP list or place him on injured reserve before the Week 10 game against Tampa Bay. It's unlikely that Davis will play this season and it appears that he realizes that. The Panthers' LB corps has been a strength of the team, and while Davis was playing well before he tore an ACL in Week Seven last season, he won't be activated unless he has the Panthers completely convinced that he's able to play at a high level. With Davis' contract set to expire after the season, he'd like to get a chance to show teams what he's capable of doing to boost his value.
